Westville - Dorothy Elizabeth Mull Prevette, 82, of Westville, passed away at 4:31 am on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Presence USMC, Danville, Illinois.

Dorothy was born in Hickory, NC on July 19, 1934 to Ransom David and Nancy Pearl Blanchard Mull. She married Dr. Millard Houck Prevette on March 26, 1955 in Gaffney, SC. He was a Danville optometrist for many years. He died June 2, 1998.

She is survived by a daughter: Nancy Teresa (Greg) Gilbreath of Westville; one son: Richard Lafonda (Jaqueline) Prevette of Savoy; one grandson: Kenny of Indianapolis; one granddaughter: Nancy Elizabeth (Eric) Barfell of Danville; three great Granddaughters: Arial, Brittney, Haylee Barfell; one great grandson: Brandon Barfell; one great granddaughter: Neya; one great great grandson: Terrion Jr on the way; three step granddaughters: Heather (Sean) Senteney, Elizabeth Stennett, and Chelsea (Jerod) Kizer; 9 step great granddaughters: Norah and Emma Rothwell, Hope Senteney, McKenzie and Caley Stennett, Allyson and Sadie Martinatis, Corabelle Lane-Kyger, Jenneca Kizer; and four step great grandsons: Chad Rothwell, Dean Senteney, Christopher Stennett, Gunnar Kizer.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and brothers-in-law: Gwendolyn (Eugene) Teague, Betty (John) Preston, Mary (John) Robinson; two brothers and one sister-in-law: James (Jane) Mull and Ransom David Mull Jr.; and one son: David Franklin Prevette.

"Dot" as she was known by most who knew her, was a graduate of Hickory, NC Beauty School and attended the Hickory city schools. She was a cosmetologist for a number of years, being licensed in North Carolina and Texas. She enjoyed working with her hands, building doll and bird houses, sewing, cooking, mushroom hunting and most of all spending time with her children. She also enjoyed spending time with her special Friends George and Michele Powell, Shellie and Sandy on her patio.
