Mr. Joseph (Joe) Vernon Holdaway, 68, of Glade Spring, VA passed away on April, 19, 2017 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Joe was born on October 22, 1948 to the late Jasper Vernon Holdaway and Mary Lou Eanes Holdaway in Washington County, VA. Joe worked for many years at Southern Film in High Point. He Married Judith “Judy” Anne Hiatt on June 2, 1990. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by several sisters. Joe was also preceded in death by his loving wife Judy Holdaway, who passed away on March 24, 2017. Surviving are his son, Jason Holdaway and wife Shelia of Lexington; a daughter, Dani Casselman and husband Robert of Lexington; three step-sons, Jeffery Gray and wife Billie Jo of Asheboro, Gary Gray and wife Heather of Jacksonville, and Roger Auston of Boone; a sister, Carol Haught and husband Jacob of Bristol, VA; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. There will be no formal visitation.
