Alma J. (Monroe) Headberg 92, of Marlborough, MA, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center, Marlborough. Born in Clinton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ada (Ellison) Monroe and the wife of 65 yrs. of Carl E. Headberg, who died in 2014. Alma, a graduate of Hudson High School in 1945, was employed at the former Design Pak as an assembler until her retirement. She had been a longtime and active member of the First | Baptist Church of Marlborough where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a quiet woman, known from her high school days as someone with a great desire to travel. She accomplished this goal by visiting, with her late husband, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and many other places. She is survived by her sons, Carl Headberg, Jr., of Hudson, MA, Edward Headberg and his wife Jane of Shrewsbury, her daughter, Linda McDonald and her husband William of Pepperell, her brother, Harry of Hudson, her sister, Hazel of Marlborough, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Deborah Meyers and the sister of the late John ,Albert, Ethel and Sally. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 24 from 10-11am at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Highland St., Berlin, MA.
