"Isham Newman, aged about 60 years died of pneumonia a few miles east of this city last Saturday and was buried at Jefferson City Sunday with Masonic honors. He was formerly a passenger conductor for many years on the old East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia railroad, now the Southern, and was a popular and well known citizen at that time. He has been incapacitated for work for some time on account of physical infirmities, and made his home with his two widowed sisters."
