She is preceeded in death by her loving husband, Bob, and her parents Marjorie and Harold Hextell.
Marlene had a passion for needlepoint, loved to travel abroad, and attended shows at the Des Moines Playhouse and Civic Center. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, and was a member of many organizations including PEO, The Ray Society, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and several committees at Edgewater Senior Living Community.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Steve (Julie) Ehrhart of Monmouth, IL, Cindy (Dave) Hansen of Eagan, MN, Leanne (Dave) Beissenherz of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Mike (Jennifer) Ehrhart of Eagan, MN; 7 grandchildren: Lindsay (Mike), Megan (Shane), Bridget, Michael, Katie (John), Kyle, and Jenna; 1 great-grandchild: Baylor; and siblings: Denny (Jan) Hextell and Ron Hextell.
Marlene’s family would like to give special thanks to the many friends that she cherished and who continued to be an active part of her life. We’d also like to thank the staff at Edgewater who have meant so much to her. She loved living in this community and we will be forever grateful for the warm friendships she made.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 1 PM at Edgewater Senior Living Community in the Performing Arts Center. A private burial will be held in the Memorial Garden at Plymouth Congregation Church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Edgewater’s Good Samaritan Fund.
