"Alatha or Aletha Demesa O'Neal-Syfrett nee' Hightower married Jasper Alexander Syfrett buried in Lubbock, Texas. After Jasper's 1st wife Martina died he married Mary Catherine O'Neal nee' Tuttle. After Mary Catherine died, Jasper married Aletha Demesa O'Neal nee' Hightower. These two O'Neal Families never found any close connections. But Jasper knew both families well. Mary Catherine's son John Riley O'Neal married Aletha Demesa's daughter Mary Candas O'Neal. And also Mary Catherine's daughter Hettie Jane married Jasper's son Arthur Lee Syfrett. Jasper said Aletha quit him because he was impotent a condition of which he was not aware at the time of the wedding."
