George Eldo Boord of New Braunfels, TX, passed away in his home on April 14, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born in Veedersburg, IN on November 30, 1920 to the late Jonathan and Julia (Crane) Boord. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ina Marie (Dunford) Boord, his sister Rose (Boord) Vaught and his brother Kennard Boord. In 2006 he married Leila (Frye) Demais. He is survived by his wife Leila, his daughter Parthena Martin (Clinton Kawanishi) of Reno, NV, one sister Margaret Bowen (Albert) and by nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Company B 334th Engineer Regiment in Iran, France and Germany. He worked as a meat cutter at Bayless Supermarket in Scottsdale, AZ until his retirement in 1986. In 1988 he moved from AZ to New Braunfels, TX. He was an active member of the New Braunfels Christian Church and American Legion Post 35. He was a retired meat cutter. He loved fishing and gardening, but his abiding passion was spending time with his family and friends. Everyone will remember his warm smile and kind heart.

A Visitation will be held at the Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, TX on Wednesday, April 19, from 5 to 7 PM. Services will be held at Fort Sam Houston at 9:45 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 with the Rev. Rick Bartlett officiating. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Braunfels Christian Church, the New Braunfels Humane Society or the American Legion Post 35.
