Barbara was born to John Benjamin and Alice Merina Coston Cooper. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1955.
She attended east Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma before her Marriage to Morris Firestone in June of 1957
On arrival in Yucaipa, Calif, she was employed by Grand Central Rocket Co which later became a part of Lockheed Propulsion Company. Her love for accounting lead her to life-long Friendships with the clients of the CPA Firms she was proud to serve.
Her retirement years were filled with the quest of Genealogy. In the hope of helping others, she was involved with recording the tombstones in Desert Lawn and other local cemeteries that the Yucaipa Valley Geneology has selected to put on-line. Barbara was also very involved in the Redlands DAR. She was always finding time to sew whatever was needed to help the veterans. It might be lap blankets, wheelchair caddies, mastectomy pillows or baby blankets.
She was preceded in death by her high school buddy and husband, Morris; her parents and her beloved brother, David Lee Cooper.
She is survived by her son, Kirt Firestone, who has been her caregiver, guiding light and Pal. She leaves 2 nieces, 4 nephews, three sister-in-laws and 2 brother-in-laws.
