Robert E. Blumhoff, 88, of Erie, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home. He farmed for many years before retiring.

Robert was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Erie, the son of Henry and Ruth (Reisenbigler) Blumhoff. He married Mildred Rosenow on Oct. 8, 1949, in Houston. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952, as a technician mechanic airman first class.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne (Betty) Blumhoff of Milan, Michael (Linda) Blumhoff of Dixon, and Bill (Zita) Blumhoff of Albany; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lila Blumhoff of Missouri, Jean Kellet of Virginia, and Mary Lou Melton of Prophetstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and a sister.

Services will be private, with burial at Fenton Cemetery in Fenton. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home in Erie is handling arrangements.
