Anne Carlton Potter was the daughter of Myra Valere Blair and Justin Smith Potter.

Sister to Justin Smith Potter, Jr. and Valere Potter Menefee.

Anne married David Kirkpatrick "Pat" Wilson on June 16, 1942 at West End Methodist Church in Nashville. To this union four sons were born, David Kirkpatrick "Patrick" Wilson, Jr., Justin Potter Wilson, William Moss Wilson, and Blair Jackson Wilson.

Ten grandchildren, William Moss Wilson, Jr., Justin Potter Wilson, Jr., Whitney Danner Wilson, David Kirkpatrick Wilson III, Anne Potter Wilson, Walter Engelhardt Wilson, Bracey Blair Wilson, John Wesley Wilson, Edward Cooke Wilson, and Ellen Blair Wilson.

Anne was a lover of the Arts. The Anne Potter Wilson Music Library at Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University is named in her honor.
