Lois E. Robinson, age 91, of Mattoon passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 at Immaculate Conception Church, 320 North 21st Street, Mattoon. A visitation for family and friends will be held one prior from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lois was born on December 25, 1925 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Hattie (Forsman) Edwards. She married Jimmie Robinson on Janury 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2003.
Survivors include her daughters Vickie (Max) Webster, Debra (Jon) Arena, and Becky (Steve) Tinch all of Mattoon; grandchildren Carrie Read of Bloomington, Il James Webster, Jason (DJ) Webster, Tahni Arena and Fiance Kyle Drummond, Brianna Arena, Jackson Tinch all of Mattoon, and Jennifer (Alex) Williams of Columbia, Mo.; Great Grandchildren Madison, Erika, Gabe, Cael, Konnor, Logan, Noah, Avery, Paisley, and Kellan. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son Donald James, brothers Donald and James Edwards, and sisters Mary Edwards and Dorothy Burke.
Lois enjoyed living at various military bases while Jimmie pursued his military career. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed gardening and had a tremendous love for animals. Lois was always there for her grandchildren and went to countless sporting events throughout the years. She enjoyed “going out” and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
