Age 71, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007 while

in the House of God. Born in Chicago September 2, 1935 to Samuel Edward and Vera Jane Dean, who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL and a member of the Wesleyan Missionary Church in Chicago.

Survived by her loving husband, to whom she was united in marriage on April 18, 1953, Elford "Al" W. Wheet, Sr. Survived by her children, Jane Wheet of Joliet, Ruth Wheet of Wheaton, David (Janet) Wheet of Diamond and Paula Wheet of Yorkville; loving grandmother of Rebecca (Mike) Flickinger, Aimee, Butch, Cory, Amber, Sean, Amanda, Bailey and Noah Wheet; loving great-grandmother of Makayla Flickinger, Anna Wheet and Dylan Wheet; also survived by one brother, Samuel Donald Dean and one sister, Gladys Marie Lakotich.

Preceded in death by her loving sons, Elford W. Wheet, Jr. and James E. Wheet; infant daughter, Lori J. Wheet; brothers, Samuel Edward Dean, James Dean, William Dean and Robert Dean; and one sister, Lena Sandmire.

Loretta M. Wheet will Lie in State on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Wesleyan Missionary Church, 5656 W. 64th St., Chicago from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Thomas E. Reed officiating. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at:
