Malcom was the youngest of six sons of John Lormier and Emily Matilda Clason Graham.
Malcom married Annie Douglass in 1857, afther her death in 1873 Malcom married Amelia Wilson in 1876.
Malcom had interest in Union Metallic Cartridge Company, Remington Arms Company, and Bridgeport Gun and Implement Company.
Although the youngest son he was seen as head of the family. He was very charitable to many institutions, churches, family and friends. Malcom was one of the early summer residents to the North Jersey coast. Preparing to leave Seabright for New York he was stricken with typhoid fever and never recovered.
