Paul was born in Akron, Ohio to Erskine D Syx and Daisy Robbins Syx. He was a home improvement contractor a majority of his life and was known across Alabama for his professional workmanship. He enjoyed auto racing, football, fishing, boating and entertaining family and friends at this home on the Warrior River. He was a charter member of the Warrior River Boating Association and enjoyed the activities and charity works within the association especially Christmas on the River Parades, Tuscaloosa Christmas Afloat. Parades and Homecoming by Boat at the University of Alabama.
He lived life to the fullest with never a dull moment and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Erskine, who died in 1986, and his mother, Daisy, who died during his birth; daughter, Teresa Syx Goodson; and granddaughter, Emily Cunningham; brothers, Jr. Syx, Ed Syx, and Raymon Syx; and sister, Rita Salter.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gerogia Cooper Syx; ex-wife Annette Syx; sons, Paul Frederick Syx (Cynthia), Lorn Syx (Shelia), Stephen Syx (Connie), Johnny Hagood (Darlene); daughters, Judy (Jim) Wells and Kim (Jim) Massey; 12 grandchildren; numerous wonderful great grandchildren; sister, Wanda Syx Irwin; and an enormous group of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial in his honor will be held at a later date.
