Obituary for Leisa Ann Steffey Jones
Leisa Ann (Steffey) Jones of Royal Oak, Michigan passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. She was 63 years old. Leisa was born March 25, 1954 in Rushville, Indiana, daughter of Marion Ray Steffey and Roberta Zike (Keaton) Steffey. She graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1972 and was a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
Leisa married Robert “Bob” Allen Jones in Homer, Indiana on August 14, 1976. After spending the early part of her life in Indiana, Leisa moved to Royal Oak in 1989 where she and her husband Bob spent the last 27 years.
Leisa enjoyed spending time with her close friends and family and was quick to open her heart to any and all. Her love of life, literature, music and nature were visible in her appetite for reading, concerts, and gardening.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob, of Royal Oak, MI; her eldest son Desmond Jones, of Royal Oak, MI; her youngest son Lennon Jones and his wife Jennifer Nichols, of Chicago, IL; along with her granddaughter Victoria Grace Jones (Desmond). She is also survived by her four sisters; Kathy (Steve) Wooldridge of Sheridan, IN; Tanya (David) VanOsdol of Arlington, IN; Carla (Brad) Newcomer of Nappanee, IN; and Kenya Beasley, of Syracuse, IN; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Roberta and her brother-in-law, Ron Beasley.
A Sharing of Memories will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017 (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday, April 13 at 3pm. Friends may visit beginning at 11am. A celebration of her life will follow at Shield’s Pizza, 1476 W Maple Road, Troy, Michigan 48084.
