Son of George Bowers Brumbaugh and Mary Horner. Husband of Abigail "Abby" Rodgers "This information is from the March 1, 1917 issue of the Browning Leader-Record.

John Brumbaugh, born Johnstown, Penn., 5 Feb. 1836, died Feb. 1917. As small boy to Ohio. Leaving Ohio to Iowa where he married Abigal Rogers. To Sullivan County 1864. Thirteen children, eight survive, Daniel, John W. , and Lennie Smith, Washington; Nettie Myers, and Lucy Huff, Oklahoma; May Mills, Green City MO; Annie E. Bates, and George, Browning MO. Wife died four years ago. Leaves children, one brother and two sisters. Burial White Oak Cemetery.
Served in the Civil War, Union, 44th Regiment, MO. Vol. Infantry, Co. E as a Corporal.
