Preceding Mary in death are her parents, sisters, Anise Matz and Pearl Bryant, and brothers, Bruce, Paul and Tommy Pell. She was a 1954 graduate of East Bank, WV High School and worked as a secretary for many years for various employers, finally retiring from the WV Department of Health and Human Services. She was a member of Diamond Baptist Church in Diamond, WV and an avid reader, having read her Bible through many times. She loved to sew and crochet and was known for all the afghans, baby garments and hats she crocheted over the years. In her final years, she was a resident of Genesis Healthcare Nursing Home in Marmet, WV. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers.
