Granddaughter of a President
A funeral service will be held tomorrow for Clochette Palfrey, 64. of Bedford, a granddaughter of President Theodore Roosevelt. Mrs. Palfrey died Monday in Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, after a long illness.
Born in New York City, the daughter of Kermit and Belle (Wil- lard) Roosevelt, Mrs. Palfrey was educated in the United States and Europe. Formerly of New York City and Washington, D.C.. she made her home in Bedford for the past three years.
Mrs. Palfrey's husband, the late John G. Palfrey, was dean of Columbia University during the 1960s. She was active in student body affairs during his tenure at the university.
A former member of the Service Wives to Re-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt, Mrs. Palfrey was also a member of the International Rescue Committe.
Mrs. Palfrey leaves a son. Dr. Sean Palfrey of Southborough; a daughter, Antonia Perrini of Northhampton: two brothers, Willard of New Boston and Kermit Roosevelt of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Memorlal Church in Harvard Yard, Cambridge. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Young Cemetery, Oyster Bay, Long Island.
