Jack Halterman of Indianola passed away on April 10, 2017 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, IA after a brief illness.
Jack was born January 31, 1931 in rural Warren County, Iowa.
Jack married Lois Eppel (Halterman) on May 3, 1952 in Boone, Iowa. Jack and Lois resided in Pulaski, Iowa until 2010 when they moved to Indianola, Iowa. They owned and operated the Pulaski Locker until 1972 and then he worked for Hamilton Produce until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of 64, years; daughters, Linda Mullen (Rick) of Wilton, Becky Engelken (Terry) of Washington and son Kevin Halterman (Cheryl) of Indianola. Grandchildren: Levon (Lisa), Ryan and Raechel Mullen, Ben (Kelsie) and Mark Engelken and Kayla and Erin Halterman. Great Grandchildren: Kristina Mullen, Aiden and Andrew Mullen, Grayson Engelken. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lizzie Halterman; brothers, Eugene, Kenneth and Davey Lee.
A visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Palmyra Cemetery, Palmyra, IA. The family encourages memorials be directed to Taylor House Hospice. The family would also like to thank his staff at Lutheran Hospital, UnityPoint Home Care Services and the Taylor House Hospice for their compassionate care.
