Notes: Dale died in house fire; wife Barbra was hospitalized with some burns.

Dale was one of my mother's triple cousins: Dale's father and my grandfather were brothers; Dale's mother and my grandmother were sisters. Three Cook brothers married 3 Smith sisters.
Dale was one of 10 children born to Leslie & "Florie" Cook.

Dale Cook, age 84, of Sac City, IA, passed away at his home on Monday, April 10, 2017. Dale was born in Lucas County, IA, on December 10, 1932 to William and Florence (Smith) Cook. On September 6, 1958, Dale married the love of his life, Barbra Olive. This union was blessed with a son, Tim.
Dale worked for the City of Sac City for 18 years until retiring in 1988. He loved his family deeply and time spent together with them was treasured. Dale enjoyed many things in life such as working on bicycles, collecting old radios, playing the harmonica, and playing word search puzzles. Dale also enjoyed the outdoors. Going fishing, bird watching, and camping were among his favorites.
Left to cherish Dale’s memory are his wife, Barb; son, Tim (Diane) Cook of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren: Michael, Josh, Shawn, Joe, Jeremy, and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Christian, Avery, Keaton, Kyle, Madyson, and Aspen; sisters: Thelma Egbert of Des Moines, IA, Ruby Walker of Knoxville, IA, Vera (Clarence) Walker of Des Moines, IA, and Sharon Estes of Dexter, IA.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Cook; brothers: William Jr., George, and Howard Cook; sisters: Wilma Fortune and Mary King.

Published by Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Memorial services for Dale Cook were held Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Sac City, Iowa; Gary Witte officiating; preceded by visitation from 1-3 pm; burial in Shiloh Cemetery, Paragould, Greene County, AR.
