Garnie Johnson Birdwell, 90, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Rogersville, died Friday (Nov. 27, 1987) at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.
A native of Honaker, Va., she had lived in Coeburn, Va. before moving to Kingsport 45 years ago.
She was a member of the First Apostolic Christian Church and a former employee of J.P. Stevens Co.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Arden (Ruth) Jones, Charleston, S.C.; one son, Christopher F. Johnson, Kingsport; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Counts; Mrs. Bill Wyatt and Elizabeth Smith, all of Richmond, Va., one brother, Bud Jackson; several, nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas R. Benton officiating.
Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery.
