Rudolph Adrian Yorba, passed away at home on January 30, 2007. The youngest of 9 children, he was born in Santa Ana Canyon, California, on August 31, 1926 in the family home built on the remaining land owned by the Yorba family since 1810 when Jose Antonio Yorba was given a land grant of 62,500 acres, from Corona to Newport Beach. "Rudy" who was loved and appreciated by everyone who met him, attended Bradford Grammer School and later graduated from Valencia High School and then attended Fullerton Junior College. During WWII, with a desire to serve his country and lying about his age, at 17 joined the Navy and served in Hawaii, China, and the South Seas. He was a member of VFW post 3173. He met Jean Barnes, a shy beauty from Utah, in 1949, asking for her hand in marriage 2 weeks later, and marrying several months later. They raised 2 daughters, Janet and Kathy. Rudy worked for Willys Jeeps, Northrop, Douglas Aircraft Aerojet General and Bechtel Corp. before retiring. Rudy embodied the belief that family is first and foremost. He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter Kathy; grandchildren, Adrienne, Loren, Kirstin, and Andrew, and siblings, Eddie, Juanita, Bertha, and Dina. Service Feb. 6, 2007 at Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim, CA with interment at Smithfield Cemetery in Smithfield, Utah, his gracious soul already with God, daughter, Janet, and loving ancestors. Daughter, Janet Lee Yorba Burdett is also buried in Smithfield City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hilgenfeld Mortuary, Anaheim, CA.
