Joseph Phelps Perry, 85, of Grenada, died Jan. 28, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mr. Perry faithfully served his country as a B-24 pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Grenada, where he faithfully attended the Berean Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Womack Perry of Grenada; four sons, George Perry of Flintstone, Ga., Michael W. Perry of Custer, Mont., Paul H. Perry of Baton Rouge, La., and Mickey J. Perry of Southaven; six grandchildren, David Perry, Christopher Perry, Sean Perry, Michelle James, Melissa Perry and Michelle Crow; and five great-grandchildren, Katy Crow, Cameron Crow, J.T. Crow, Talula Perry and Payten Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. Perry and Missouri Hood Perry; his brother, William F. Perry, and a granddaughter, Melanie Kay Perry.

Services were Jan. 31 at First Baptist Church of Grenada with burial in Eupora City Cemetery. Dr. Bob Self and the Rev. Kevin Jackson officiated.

Garner-Harper Funeral Home of Grenada was in charge of arrangements.
