John Battice Ford, III, 88, of John’s Island, Indian River Shores, died Monday, December 31 at his home. Mr. Ford was born in Detroit, Michigan.
He lived in Grosse Pointe Farms, Harbor Springs, Michigan, and Indian River Shores, Florida.
Mr. Ford was a graduate of St. Paul’s School and Yale University.
His professional interests were in the import/export trade.
He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
Among his many volunteer contributions were serving on the board of Riverside Theater, and as Chairman of the Boards of Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology and The American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Chapter.
Mr. Ford was a member of the John’s Island Club of Vero Beach, The Little Harbor Club in Harbor Springs, Michigan, Country Club of Detroit, Grosse Pointe Club and Yondotega Club in Detroit.
