C. M. BIENZ
Word of the death of C. M. Bienz, old-time resident of Kalispell, at Lake Port, California, following an operation, was received here over the week-end.
Mr. Bienz was 71 years of age, and had resided in Kalispell, up to the time of his retirement in 1935, since 1900. He was formerly associated with L. M. Penrod in the Kalispell Harness Company. At the time of his death he was making his home at Nice, California.
When he first settled in Kalispell Mr. Bienz was in charge of the harness department of the Leighty Hardware company, later entering the harness business for himself and in 1911 entered into partnership with Mr. Penrod. He disposed of his interest in the Kalispell Harness company in 1935 because of ill health. Mr. Bienz had been in poor health for several years. His wife passed away in December (sic), 1934.
He is survived by three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Helen Michaelson, Chicago; Mrs. E. A. Anderson, Kalispell; Mrs. Ocie Meyers, Denton [all died after 1956]; Otis of Everett, Washington; Hoyt of Edmonds, Washington; and Thomas of Dishman, Washington. Surviving him also are four brothers and three sisters.
The body will arrive here Wednesday for burial Thursday afternoon from the Kalispell Funeral home, with the Rev. H. B. Ricketts officiating. Ritual services of the Masonic lodge will also be conducted at the chapel.
