He was born Robert Eugene Snyder, Sr. on January 19, 1950, in Abilene. He grew up in Albany and attended Albany schools. He married Jackie Riley in Albany on July 19, 1969. He started his oilfield service company in February 1971. He was a lifetime Albany resident and a member of First United Methodist Church. Bob was a member of the Confederate Air Force, the Aircraft Owners Pilot Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, association of Oil Service Contractors, and West Central Texas Oil and Gas Producers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Riley Snyder; his mother, Beth Snyder; one son, Robert Eugene Snyder, Jr.; one daughter, Laura Snyder Lucas; three grandchildren, Brady Moberley, Lindsey Lucas, and Hannah Snyder all of Albany; one brother, John Snyder of Abilene; and one sister, Helon Norman of Albany.
He was preceded in death by his father, Byron Eugene Snyder; and one brother, Ronald Kent Snyder.
The family requests that memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity. Memorials may be left at the Morehart Mortuary in Albany.
