COVINGTON — Daniel Harrison Burgess, age 34, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at his home in Covington. He was born Nov. 8, 1982 in Piqua, Ohio, to Dennis "Denny" and Debbie (Harrison) Burgess.

He was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 2001, where he played football and was team co-captain his senior year, and also played basketball and baseball. He attended Upper Valley JVS for two years for electrical trades; graduated from Hobart Institute of Welding, Troy, in 2005; worked in the welding and construction trades and most recently, had been assisting his father with tax prep and accounting.

He loved playing guitar and writing songs; recorded a CD with his sister, Dianna, with all originals. Daniel loved his friends and family.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don and Nancy Harrison; and paternal grandparents, Doc and Jane Burgess.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Denny and Debbie Burgess; sister, Dianna Burgess and her fiancé, Trent Hinger, all of Covington; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many others who loved him and will miss him.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Fields of Grace Worship Center, 326 E. Troy Pike, Covington (across from old IGA) with Pastor Don Solon officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends Monday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
