Wiley J. Massey, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope with Pastor Sam Earp officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.

Mr. Massey was born on October 15, 1926, in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the war in Korea. He was reared in Merkel and retired from Atlas Machine and Welding. He enjoyed his friends and loved to tell stories.

Survivors include: his wife, Flora "Jean" Massey of Abilene; a son, Scott Massey and wife Pamela of Lewisburg, West Virginia; a step son, David Rogers of Keller, Texas; a step daughter, Gale Hatley of Arlington; a step daughter-in-law, Luara Rogers of Carrollton, Texas; a brother, Marvin Massey of Abilene; two sisters, Tommie Haynes of Lampe, Missouri and Sue Todd of Lamesa, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Mr Massey was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Andrew and Dolley Massey; five sisters, Lynette Massey, Della Woomer, Zella Brown, Nellie Reynolds and Jackie Ross; two brothers, Melvin Massey and Lonnie Massey; and a step son, Steven Ward Rogers.

A visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
