Benjamin J. Blackwood of Colfax Area Dies
Benjamin J. Blackwood, a former cattleman and livestock auctioneer, who made his home in this vicinity for several years, died yesterday morning in the Highland Hospital in Auburn after having been there for little more than a day. Blackwood was born in Quincy, Illinois, August 16, 1885 and came to California in 1922.
He leaves his wife, Carrie E, of Colfax, and a son, Bert Donald of Lafayette, Contra Costa County.
Private funeral services will be held in the chapel of Francis E. West in Colfax tomorrow at 10 am followed by cremation in East Lawn, Sacramento.
