Lorraine Mattie (Andersen) Dickson, age 95, of Boy River passed away April 3, 2017 at Maplewoods Assisted Living. She was born in Fairmont North Dakota on October 8, 1921.

She married Virgel Dickson in August 1939. They raised their family on a small farm on the Island in Boy Lake Township, where she lived for 64 years until December of 2016.

Lorraine and Virgil were founding members of Zion Lutheran Church in Boy River where she was an active member serving as treasurer. She continued to be active in the church long after she was unable to physically attend church. Lorraine was the Longville School Secretary for 19 years and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She spent many decades raising her children, from the 40's through the 70's. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crocheting, making quilts and gifts for her family, reading, puzzles and her bookkeeping up until her last days. She enjoyed mowing her "acre" of lawn and gardening well into her 80's.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgel; sons: Darryl, and Denny; sisters: Doris, Audrey and Florence; and nephews: Mike and Bob.

Lorraine is survived by her brother; Ray Andersen; children: Debby Sepin, Denise (Larry) Daigle, Dory Fundaun, and Doug (Brenda) Dickson; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
