Lloyd H. Curley Bothern, 81, died Tuesday, December 2, 2009 at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Lloyd was born June 14, 1928 at Flandreau, SD to John and Bertha (Drewes) Bothern. He received his education at Smyth Country School. Lloyd served in the Army during the Korean War and after his discharge he worked for Bruce Chamberlin farming near Flandreau. He moved to California and returned to Sioux Falls where he worked for Westmore Music. Lloyd married Virginia “Ginny” Gray on June 10, 1966 in Sioux Falls, SD and after she was diagnosed with ALS he cared for her at home. Ginny preceded him in death on April 2, 1990. Curley has been a resident at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud, MN since 1998.

Lloyd is survived by a stepson, Doug ( Shirley) Rima, Sioux Falls and a sister, Doretta (Don) Fox, Sioux Falls. Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife, Ginny, his parents, two brothers, Walter and Ralph, four sisters, Hilda Storer, Violet Moeller, Wilma Peper, Elva Hansen, a niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 7, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park, Sioux Falls.
