Smithfield- Juanita Mae Stambaugh, 84, of 9103 E. Co. Hwy 14 passed away at 12:17 a.m. in her home with her family by her side.

She was born July 30, 1932 the daughter of Orson and Minnie (Bartlett) Burrows. She married Gilbert “Buck” Stambaugh on April 16, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her three sisters, Audrey Mason, Georgia Pilgrim, and Clarice Woodell-Easley. Surviving are three children, Orson “Butch” (and Viva “Toots”) Stambaugh, Dawn Stambaugh and Shirley (and Nathan) Engel, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Juanita attended Cuba High School, Spoon River College, worked at Atwoods, Victor/Dana for many years and then worked as a nurse’s aide at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba. She spent most of her life taking care of others which she enjoyed. She enjoyed camping, dancing, and having family around. She also loved animals and had many of them.

Juanita requested cremation and a graveside service to be held at a later date. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements.
