A well known and highly respected citizen of
the Between The Rivers section of Trigg county, he was the son of John Crockett and Mary A. McWaters Lane.
He suffered a stroke late Monday, July 5th, and was rushed to the hospital at Murray where he passed away quietly at 4pm Wednesday, July 7th, never regaining consciousness.
He was united in marriage to Miss Lou(Lucretia)Oakley, December, 1891. There were seven children born to this union, one having died in infancy. Surviving children are: Andrew J.,Claude W.,& Barnell P.Lane; Mary A.(Mrs. Calvin Littlejohn)& Emma(Mrs.Harvey Littlejohn)all of Trigg county and Simmie (Mrs. Raymond Mitchell) of Alton, IL. Also surviving are a brother, John Grant Lane and sister, Della (Mrs. E.R.Bleidt) of Golden Pond, KY.
