Marianna, July 26~~His health becoming impaired while training for service, a paratrooper, George S. Medency, 24, died in the Veterans Hospital at Aspinwall. He had been under treatment since his discharge from service but never regained his health. A heart condition caused death.
A son of Charles and Julia Shak Medency, of this place, he was born in Fayette County, January 3, 1920. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Catholic Church, of Brownsville. He was employed at the mine here at the time he entered service. Assigned to the paratroopers after entering service Jan. 30, 1942, he was relieved of duty by medical discharge Nov. 3, 1942.
Besides his parents, three brothers and six sisters survive.
