Lambert Ryan was born in Ireland and made his way to Oswego, New York, where he and a few possible brothers and other family members worked as stone masons in 1850. Their mother, Hanora Ryan born abt. 1782 lived with Lant. Her husband, Thomas Ryan, also a mason, died in Oswego in June 1849 at the age of 62. "Lant" Ryan married Bridgett O'Brien in Oswego and migrated to Bracken Co, KY about 1855 where he was a farmer, and he and Bridgett had 4 children together. Mary Amanda, the oldest, was born in New York, the rest were born in Kentucky. Their names Michael, Patrick, and Elizabeth, who was born in 1861.
