Raymond Albert Shefner was born March 4, 1945, in Charles City, IA, the son of Walter and Louise (Janssen) Shefner. He received his education in Bassett, IA and Charles City
and served in the United States Army from 1962 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1964.
Survivors include a sister, Jean Ann (Martin) Merding; brother, Bert (Sandy) Sheffner of Charles City; sisters-in-law, Janet Sheffner of Floyd, IA and Ruth Sheffner of Fredericksburg, IA; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ronald, Roger, Jim and Tom Sheffner; one sister, Betty Mason.
