St. Marys native dies Friday in Holton hospital
Mrs. Clara E. McAfoos, Mayetta, a native of the St. Marys community, died Friday in a Holton hospital. She was the mother of Mrs. Dorothy Miller, St. Marys.
Mrs. McAfoos was born Apr. 6, 1889, near St. Marys, and was a member of the Kaw Valley Methodist Church. For the past six years she had lived in Mayetta.
Services were held Monday afternoon in Holton, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Kaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Miller, St. Marys; Mrs. Gertrude Coon, Manhattan; Mrs. Ethel Anderson, Security, Colo.; four sons, Raymond McAfoos, Clovis, N.M.; George McAfoos, Kansas City; Harold McAfoos, Denver; Cleo McAfoos, Omaha; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Mauer, Topeka; and Mrs. Elsie Suddarth, Osawatomie.
