Charles E. Kirkwood, 71, Princeton, N.J., died Friday at Princeton Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1924, in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, a son of Robert and Laura Smith Kirkwood. He was married to Bessie Lee Goforth, who survives at the home. He graduated from the Iberia Academy in 1945 and from the University of Missouri. He worked at Uniroyal Corporation for 25 years before retiring as plant manager of several Uniroyal installations. He worked for Amtico (Congoleum) Corp., Trenton, N.J. for the past 13 years. Other survivors include: one son, Ronn Kirkwood, Evanston, Ill.; one daughter, Frankee Trombley, Arnold, Md.; one sister, Elizabeth Miodunski, San Antonio; and three grandchildren. One son, Charles C. Kirkwood, died May 22, 1993. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brays Advent Christian Church, near Iberia. Pastor Bill Fox will officiate. Burial will be in Brays Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
