Barbara Degear Minton, 69, of Simpsonville, widow of William "Bill" Minton, died on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Born in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of Argyle Kelly Degear and the late Harry J. Degear. Barbara had been an Office Administrator and was a member of First Baptist Church Simpsonville. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Terri A. Minton, and her daughter, Jessi Lessenberry, Barbara's beloved granddaughter, both of Simpsonville; a sister, Linda Hardwick David, Mauldin; a brother, Harry Degear Janice, Greenville; two brothers-in-law, Phillip Minton Donna, and Daniel Minton Vanessa, all of Boone, NC; two sisters-in-law, Jean Minton, Pickens, and Evelyn Minton, Boone, NC; and nine special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014, from 1:00-1:45 PM in the chapel of the First Baptist Church Simpsonville where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00PM. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615 or to First Baptist Church Simpsonville, 3 Hedge Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
