OLD AGE CLAIMS ANOTHER
Stephen Michelin, one of the oldest residents of the county passed away at the home of son, Geo. near this city on Saturday afternoon, April 20th. The funeral took place on Monday forenoon from the St. Charles church and the remains interred in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Michelin was born at Three River, Quebec, 94 years ago this coming August. He was married in Canada when 22 years of age to Miss Irene Gilbert and to this union was born eight children, four boys and four girls of whom survive the parents. Namely, Mrs. Angus Houle and Mrs. Alex. McCoy of this city, Mrs. Clarence Revoir and Mrs. John Barner of Big Inlet, Canada, Joseph Michelin, of Pellston, Frank of Saskatchewan and George and Adolph of this city. Mrs. Michelin passed away shortly after they moved to Cheboygan from Canada about 29 years ago, and since that time the old gentleman has made his home with his son, George. He was very well known throughout the county, having lumbered all through, the county ever since coming here and only quitting this vocation when old age barred him from further active work.
