She was born January 8, 1909 in Morgan, Utah, to Daniel Hanmer and Hattie Eliza Robison Heiner. Dott married the love of her life, Edward Henry Anderson ll on April 3, 1929. He died only six months after their marriage of a sudden infection. They were not blessed with any children, however Dott adopted her nieces and nephews as her own and played a major role in their lives. She was "Aunt Dott" to many of us.
Dott was a very independent woman, residing primarily in Salt Lake City and Bountiful. She worked several retails jobs and retired from the Safeway Offices after working there for 22 years. In her spare time she made many beautiful needlework items and pictures that she gave to family members and friends. She also loved to travel. One of her favorite trips for many years was to spend the Christmas holidays with her niece, Shannon and her family in California, taking pride in helping Shannon cook and decorate for parties and holiday events. She made wonderful candies that we all remember well and try to duplicate, but never to be quite the same or as good as Aunt Dott's.
Aunt Dott was a beautiful lady who took immaculate care of herself and always carried herself with grace and dignity. She was a member of the LDS church and held several positions over the years.
Dott is survived by her sister Joye Crouch of Morgan. Numerous nieces and nephews and other family also survive her. She was especially close to her nieces; DiAnne Campbell, Shannon Schaeffer, Wendy Barber and Dr. Beverly O'Connor who all helped care for her during her later years. Also giving her love and care were her nephews Glen Campbell, who ran errands and took Dott places and Kevin Barber, who could always make her smile, even to the end.
Dott was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, her brothers Garland, Coulam, Ronald and Milo and her sister's Marvella Geary and Ina Fry.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Rock Chapel in Morgan. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, North Morgan Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the employees of the IHC Hospice team and especially Dawn Hamblin who gave Dott such loving, respectful care. Aunt Dott, we know you are looking beautiful, once again hand in hand with your true love Ed. What a wonderful reunion. Be happy.
