"Conrad Beasterfeldt Sr., died at the Soldiers' Home at Leavenworth Friday, aged 82 years. He was an old and respected citizen of Kansas and his remains were brought back to his old home for burial, the funeral being held Sunday afternoon from the home of his son, Conrad. The other children are William, Mrs. George Hupe and Mrs. Wm. Holtz. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery."

"H.C. Beasterfeld, Sr., died Thursday, Feb 12, 1920, at 1:40 A.M. after a five day illness, at the advance age of 81 years, 11 months and 25 days, at the national Military Home hospital. The deceased was born February 17, 1838, in Heffland, Germany. At the age of 19, he came to Illinois. At the beginning of the Civil War he enlisted and at the close received his honorable discharge. In March 1866, he was married to Mary Kolling of Creet, Ill., and to the union were born six children, four of whom are now living. In 1871 he came to Kansas and has since resided in Wabaunsee County. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, two sons, Conrad of Belvue, Kansas and William of St. Marys, Kansas and two daughters, Mrs. William Holtz and Mrs. George Hupe, of Belvue, Kansas, 25 grandchildren, all residents of this vicinity. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb'y 15, at 2 P.M. conducted by Reverend Langholy, of the Lutheran church, and interment made in the Greenwood cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Wm. Uhlrig, Charles Arand, John Swear, Jacob Kaul, Albert Young, and John Pageler."
