Beeatrice A. "Bea" Lamphier, 98, of Battle Creek, died March 22, 2017. Bea was born November 6, 1918 in Battle Creek to Clyde and Mina (Jones) Lybarger. She worked many jobs including a factory worker at Kellogg's, a clerical clerk at DeNooyer Chevrolet and a cashier at Lakeside Grocery in Cloverdale, MI.

Bea was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting afghans and crocheting.

Bea is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Jim) Carter of Marshall, two sons, Larry Lamphier of Galesburg and Dwight (Joan) Lamphier of Placida, FL.; 9 grandsons; one granddaughter; several great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Bea married Glenn Lamphier in 1939 and he sadly preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Teresa A. Glubke and a brother, Clyde A. Lybarger.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Bea's life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, officiated by Pastor Dwight Easley. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Community Church of Christ Church or the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
