Jewell C. Cook McGarvey was the daughter of the late Raymond and Clara Alcox Cook. Jewell was a 1937 graduate of Academy High School and a 1946 graduate of Erie Business School. She was a life long resident of Erie, Pa. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved animals, especially her beloved cat Angie. She was a stenographer with the Pa Bureau of Consumer Protection and worked at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie. She retired in 1980 after working for several years as a state employee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Marshall "Bud" McGarvey, 1 brother, Lowell Cook and 3 sisters Marjorie Nielsen, Winifred Ott, and Virginia Carey. Her sister Lois Bires survive and many nieces and nephews.
