John Thomas Whitten of Rogers died peacefully Wednesday, March 29, in the presence of family at the age of 72. He was born March 10, 1945 in McCaskill to Newburn and Louise (Bowers) Whitten. John was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and lived and worked as a CPA in Hope for many years.

John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Evelyn Whitten, Jimmy Whitten, Katherine Chandler, Ernest Whitten, and William Whitten.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Langston (Jay) of Fayetteville, son, Mike Whitten (Denise) of Oklahoma; and daughter Jennifer Whitten of Little Rock; brother, Doyle Whitten of Missouri; sisters: Dorothy Walthall of Texas, Betty Sue Hernandez (Paul) of Texas, and Mary Jane Jennings of Louisiana and many nieces and nephews that will greatly miss their "Uncle Johnny." He was known by some as "Slick", by some as the author of Leroy stories.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 1 at 1:00pm at Anderson Cemetery in Spring Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to POTS research at dysautonomiainternational.org.
