Warren DeWald, 95 of Mulvane, Kansas formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at a care center.

Warren W. DeWald, 95 of Mulvane, Kansas formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Mulvane. Funeral service will be held 10:00am Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Salix Community United Methodist Church, Salix, Iowa with Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Sloan Cemetery, in Sloan, Iowa with Military Rites provided by the United States Army. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 5pm till 8pm with family present at 6:00pm and prayer service starting at 7:00pm at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Warren was born April 14, 1921 in Armour, South Dakota the son of Merritt and Stella (Malone) DeWald. From August of 1945 from December of 1945 he served in WWII with the United States Army.

On February 21, 1943 Warren married Irma Henley of Aurelia, Iowa at the Presbyterian Church in Lynn Grove. In 1986 he retired from the US Government as a Meat Inspector. In 1986 they made their home in Salix, and moved to Sioux City in March of 2003. In 2010 he moved to Mulvane, Kansas. Warren was a member of the Salix United Methodist Church, and then when he moved to Kansas Warren was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Derby, Kansas.

Warren is survived by his five grandchildren Troy (Kimberly) DeWald, Jason (Stephanie) DeWald, Jill (Tom) Barr, Craig Behrendt, Brian (Carissa) Behrendt; seven great grandchildren Hunter, Mason, Brycen, Zander, Keegan, Lincoln, Boston; daughter –in-law Beverly DeWald; and son-in-law Joseph (Diane) Behrendt.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Irma; his parents; his son Gary; daughter Connie; two great grandsons Slate and Henley DeWald.
