Mark White, 70, Dies Suddenly --- Prominent Farmer Has Heart Attack While Fighting Fire --- Mark White, 70. prominent Macon County farmer and livestock man, died unexpectedly at 4 p.m. yesterday at his home northeast of Macon. A fire Mr. White had started to burn the cattails off a pond got out of control and he suffered a fatal heart attack while fighting the blaze. The body was brought to the Stephens and Goodding Funeral Home here, where funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Mr. White was active in civic affairs in both the city of Macon and the county. He was a member of the Macon County Livestock Association, of the Macon Rotary Club and of the First Christian Church here. The son of Mark and Hattie J. Ryther White, he was born in Macon, on the farm adjoining the present home, and had spent his entire life here. He was married to Miss Ethel Grisham, who preceded him in death Sept. 30, 1950. One son, Ermal White, also preceded him in death in May, 1944. Mr. White was married Oct 3, 1951 in Kansas City to Mrs. Josephine Brown, who survives. In addition to his wife, he Ieaves one son, Grisham, of near Macon; one sister, Mrs. Ralph Talbot of Macon; one half brother, Alvin Dixon of Okmulgee, Okla.; one half-sisler, Mrs. Amy Gates of Macon; six grandchildren: Mrs. Bennett Strong of Macon; Ermal Harp Stripe of St. Louis, Mark C., .John, Ann and Bob White. all of Macon. and two great grandchildren.
