John Sartin III married Seleta Craft, a daughter of John Craft, about 1845 and settled in Pike County on what was known as 'the Old Salty Place' located on Canada Branch, one of the head tributaries of Magees Creek. By 1860, they had relocated to the Tilton Creek area in Marion County, MS where John established a tannery. This tannery contributed greatly to the Confederacy during the War Between the States.

This burial site is unconfirmed as there is no marker in place nor have I found a record to confirm the site. John's death date was found in Masonic Records but there was no listing of the cemetery.
