Jerome W. Grant, 86, Circleville, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Pickaway Manor Nursing Home in Circleville. Born March 27, 1930, in Marengo, he was the son of the late Manford and Opal Sloan Grant. He was a 1948 graduate of Marengo High School, an Army veteran of the Korean War and employed at B.F. Goodrich in Louisville until he retired.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, the former Joyce Green, in 2012, and a brother, Norman Grant.Survivors include a daughter, Debra Wellman (Jim) of Circleville; two grandsons, Matthew Freeman of South Bend and Levi Freeman (Morgan) of Circleville; a great-grandson, Isaac; two brothers, Allen Grant of Indiana and Pat Grant (Julia) of Florida; a sister, Betsy Barton of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Bud Green (Marcella) of Wheelersburg, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Betty Pierson (Bob) of Marengo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerome wished for cremation to take place.
Visitation: Monday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon at Circle of Light Worship Center in Circleville.
Memorial service: Monday, Feb. 13, at noon at the worship center. Cremation was chosen. Officiant: The Rev. David Henson. Arrangements: Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home in Ashville, Ohio. The family suggests memorial gifts to Circle of Light, 2146 N. Court St., Circleville, OH 43113 for Food Truck Ministry or to Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 11185 Main St., Stoutsville, OH 43154 for Free Store.
