Karl Krogstad Dies at 37 in San Diego

Karl Krogstad, Jr., 37, public relations director for the Western Insurance Information Service, died Thursday in San Diego, Calif.
Mr. Krogstad was stricken with pleurisy and pneumonia while on two week's active duty with the Naval Reserve. He left Seattle about two weeks ago.
Mr. Krogstad was manager of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce tourist and convention department before he was recalled into the Navy at the outbreak of the Korean War. He was released to inactive duty two years later with the rank of lieutenant commander.
Mr. Krogstad was born in Seattle. He was graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Washington. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He lived at 8010 (or 3010 or 9010) Ridge Drive.
Surviving are his wife Doris; two sons, Karl Krogstad, 3rd, and Gregory Lee Krogstad; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Krogstad, Sr., and a sister, Mrs. Elaine Jorgenson, all of Seattle.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday in Forkner's chapel. Military graveside services will be held in Washelli.
